KENNETH GYANG FILM THIS IS LAGOS & ANDREW OHIO FILM BIIRE BIIRE WINS BIG AT ZUMA FILM FESTIVAL 2024


It was a night of glitz and glamour as filmmakers across the nation gather to celebrate excellence in film making in Nigeria. After a long week of film screenings, paper presentations, emerging talent workshops and empowerment, stakeholders forum and film funding engagement sessions, it was a great time for Nigerian film makers to evaluate the position and the stands of the film industry as a whole.

If there was any doubt that there is a paradigm shift in the film, movie and television industry, Zuma International Film Festival has proven that, it is time for the industry to take the bull by the horn.

The MD Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Ali Nuhu and his amiable team of dedicated professionals showed the nation and indeed the entire world the power of film making as well as it's role in nation building. A cross section of ministers and dignitaries at the annual lecture by ZIFF shook the nation when veteran filmmaker Kunle Afolaysn got vocal about his position on the big players globally, which went viral.

We would not stop, if we are to recount all the amazing effect of Zuma International Film Festival this year.  Hollywood vetran Actor Hakeem Kazim and Jamaica Mister Of Film Jackie were amongst several international representation at ZIIF this year.

The festival rounded up with amazing films nominated and Kenneth Gyang's film "THIS IS LAGOS" a film about Lagos shot in Jos sweep the awards for this years edition of ZIFF alongside Andrew Ohio's Indeginious Langue film "BIIRE BIIRE" clinching the award for the best Yoruba Indeginious languge Film.

It was a beautuful sight to behold and what ZIFF holds in stocks is yet to be revealed in full, watch this space for more.
