It was meant to be a beautiful night as Onyeka Onwenu graced a friend's birthday celebration on Tuesday night 30th Juky 2024, she performed in honour of the celebrant, descended the stage and made her way to her seat before she reportely slumbed, there was an immediate reaction and rescue mission but she eventually didn't make it as ci firmed by the Reddington hospital in Lagos.
The source who spoke anonimously said "It is sad that Onyeka Onwenu just passed at the birthday celebration of Mrs Stella Okoli of Emzor Pharmaceutical this night after performing". Earlier this year, she had plans to put together a film that profiles her life and collaborations with up and coming artist just to give back to tye society, it is not known if the film was completed before her passing on.
Her music cuts across boarders and she will be greatly missed. Nigeria has lost yet another GEM, we pray her soul rest in perfect peace, and God grants her family and loved ones as well as Nigeria as a Nation the grace to bear this loss.
